The Project, funded by the UK Department of Energy and Climate Change and carried out by Pale Blue Dot EnergyAxis Well Technology and Costain, confirmed that there are no technical hurdles to permanently storing large volumes of CO2 in offshore geological storage off the coast of the UK, including sites large enough to comfortably service CO2 supplies from mainland Europe.
