European energy funding plan gets mixed review

The European Energy Programme for Recovery (EEPR) has had a generally positive effect, but some energy projects have yet to take off, according to a mid-term evaluation published by the European Commission on Friday. The assessment, conducted by consultancy Deloitte, shows that while the programme's overall objectives are being met, carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects yielded poor results relative to offshore wind, and electricity and gas infrastructure projects.
