Land use meeting on tap

Canadian group unhappy with Provincial control of their land, mentions CCS.

A landowners' rights group is holding an information session next week regarding a host of provincial bills it claims carry devastating consequences. "The reason why we're having another meeting is there was such a public outcry from area residents in (the) Grande Prairie area," council founder Colleen Boddez said. "Because they are furious with the landowner bills and want to know more about it we decided that we would come back and have another meeting." The bills – which govern statutes like land stewardship, carbon capture and power transmission – put land use power in the hands of the province rather than the landowners themselves, according to Boddez.
