New technology to halve CCS operating costs on industrial CO₂ sources

By using the  ”Clathrate Hydrate Slurry” technology , the Japanese steel business company JFE has shown that henceforth, it is feasible to control the conditions of pressure and temperature required for converting CO2 to a hydrate

It allows a significant cut of the operating costs because it does not require thermal energy to separate CO₂ from the liquid in which CO2 is absorbed, contrary to the conventional absorption process.
