Institute updates

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia was the site of the 6th Carbon Sequestration Leadership Forum (CSLF) Ministerial Meeting, held 2-4 November, 2015. Victor Der, General Manager – The Americas and Andy Purvis, General Manager – EMEA represented the Institute at the meeting. 

China is a leading country for CCS project development with nine of the world’s 45 Large Scale Integrated CCS projects in the pipeline.

More than 300 people from a dozen countries gathered in Alberta, Canada, to join Shell’s CEO for the official opening of Quest, showing the world that CCS is happening. 

Launch of the worlds fifteenth large-scale integrated CCS project in Alberta, a high-level meeting of government ministers at the CSLF and preparations for international climate talks at COP21 are some of the highlights of November in the CCS industry.

Final rule on the EPA Clean Power Plan and the lead-up to the launch of Shell's Quest project were among the highlights for CCS in October.
