Institute opportunities arising from Doha

Institute CEO, Brad Page, during an interview by the UNFCCC–endorsed Climate Studio.

The Institute’s involvement in the Doha conference opened up several significant opportunities that will be pursued in the coming months. Key among them is:

  • interest in CCS by the governments of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus, Kuwait,  Paraguay and Uganda
  • an open invitation in 2013 to participate in the public processes of: the Technology Mechanism’s Technology Executive Committee, Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) and its Advisory Committee; Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice and Subsidiary Body for Implementation on the various approaches framework and new market mechanism; Standing Committee on Finance financial mechanisms, the long-term work plan on finance, and the Green Climate Fund
  • further supporting the CTCN to evolve the CCS Network
  • distribution of a UNFCCC survey on CCS in the Clean Development Mechanism to the Institute's membership.
