Fuel Supply for Power Capture in the Closure phase

Objective

The objective of this activity is to terminate fuel/consumable contracts as part of closure

Major Deliverables

  • Terminated contracts for fuel and power/utility supply

Tasks

Specific tasks include the following:

  • For each fuel or utility supply contract, identify whether termination will require negotiation and/or penalties, e.g. for early termination of contract
  • Where necessary, negotiate with suppliers of fuel and power/utilities to determine the terms of termination of their contracts
  • Terminate contracts for supply of:
    • Primary fuel (gas / coal / oil / biomass)
    • Auxiliary or supplementary fuels (e.g. gas / biomass)
    • Electrical power
    • Waste heat
    • Potable / towns water
    • Chemical dosing for feed-water systems
    • Other water treatment chemicals
    • Other utilities to power / capture plant
  • Arrange for final delivery and final metering for each contract, as appropriate
  • Make final payments and execute terms of termination of contract e.g. pay penalties
  • De-commission, dispose and rehabiliate associated facilities /equipment in accordance with closure plans
  • Return or dispose of any remaining inventory.
