Objective
The objectives of this activity are:
- Undertake community engagement and other stakeholder engagement according to stakeholder management plan
- Obtain key regulatory consents and approvals to commence the execution of the project
Major Deliverables
The major deliverables of this activity are:
- An Updated Stakeholder Register
- Applications for Key Regulatory Consents / Approvals for the Project
Tasks
Updated Stakeholder Register
- The stakeholder register should provide detailed of the stakeholder who are likely to be required / contacted throughout the various project stages
- Therefore, the specific tasks associated with updating the stakeholder register (as a minimum) are to:
- Update the stakeholder contact details (if required)
- Update stakeholder engagement requirements to distribute information / details on the project (including: what would be required by the stakeholder; when they would be required by the stakeholder; and, how they should be presented to the stakeholder)
- Update stakeholder engagement requirements for the submission of applications for the key consents / approvals for the project
- Update stakeholder engagement requirements to collect information / details / comments / feedback on the project (including; what would be required from the stakeholder; when they could be collected from the stakeholder; and, how they are likely to be collected from the stakeholder)
Applications for Key Regulatory Consents / Approvals for the Project
- Based on the identification and evaluation of the requirements of the regulatory and environmental issues surrounding the project, the supporting applications for the key regulatory consents / approvals should be prepared
- As part of the applications for the key regulatory consents / approvals, it may be necessary to undertake stakeholder engagement as part of the application procedure. The requirements of this stakeholder engagement should be outlined in the Stakeholder Register. The stakeholder engagement may take a variety of forms and utilise a range of methods
- The following methods are suggestions only to be considered:
- Local Exhibitions (where models / examples of the project are presented, and a means for comments / feedback to be submitted is available)
- Drop-in sessions (where a representative is available to discuss the project, and consider concerns / suggestions)
- Workshops
- Telephone advice lines (either manned or with recorded messages)
- Internet / websites
- Media (including local newspapers, brochures and pamphlets, and local / specialist radio)
- Citizen panels
- Parish / Town / Community Councils and / or their representative bodies
