본 글로벌 CCS 현황: 2014년 2월 보고서는 전세계 대규모 탄소 포집과 저장(CCS) 프로젝트의 현황을 요약하고, 주요 국제 CCS 프로젝트를 비롯해 해당 정책과 법률 및 규제의 진척 상황을 개관합니다.
지구 온도 상승을 섭씨 2도 미만으로 유지하기 위해서는 기본적으로 CCS가 필요합니다. CCS는 기후변화에 대응하기 위해 필요한 최소 비용의 저탄소 기술 포트폴리오에서 필수적인 요소입니다. 지난 몇 개월 동안 이러한 현실을 인정하는 일련의 전문가 보고서가 계속 발표되었습니다. 여러 폭넓은 의견은 환영해야 할 일이며, 특히 의사결정권자들에게 CCS 기술 발전 조치를 촉구하는 경우에는 더욱 그러합니다. 대다수 지역에서 대규모 CCS 프로젝트가 계속 시공과 가동 단계로 나아감에도 불구하고 지금까지 전반적인 성과 속도는 전세계적으로 이상적인 수준에 못미쳤습니다.
