Advocacy & Communications Specialist
Jelena is the Institute’s Advocacy and Communications Specialist based in Melbourne. Jelena joined the team as a Social Media Coordinator in 2015 and has since moved into a wider Advocacy and Communications role, where she looks after the Institute’s social media accounts, newsletters, as well as contributing to the Institute’s global Advocacy and Communications work program to support the Institute’s mission of raising the profile of CCS and accelerating its deployment.
Jelena comes from an educational background, having worked at University of Queensland, where she was involved in the student crisis communications during the 2011 Brisbane Floods. After moving to Melbourne, Jelena worked at the Kangan Institute, before her drive to make a difference led her to join the Institute.
Jelena holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Languages and Applied Linguistics from Griffith University, and speaks fluent English and Serbian, as well as conversational Italian and Spanish.
