On the 26th of January, the Global CCS Institute launched the Chinese language version Global Status of CCS 2020 report.
As China moves toward its peaking targets in 2030 and carbon neutrality in 2060, a national commitment to action on climate change will translate into pragmatic action.
The Global Status report demonstrates the vital role carbon capture and storage technologies (CCS) will play in reducing emissions globally, as well as documenting the current status and important milestones for the technology over the past 12 months. Discussions and presentations covered the potential for CCS in China.
The virtual event presented report findings, including:
- Global progress of CCS, including newly released numbers of commercial facilities in operation and under development;
- Global CCS-related trends in policy and infrastructure;
- Presentations and discussions on the role of CCS in meeting China’s mid-term and 2060 climate goals; and
- Regional expertise and experience sharing
The Global Status of CCS report is regarded as a key source of information on CCS, with significant reach and international impact.
