Institute provides submission to inform Australia’s National Hydrogen Strategy

The Institute recently provided a submission to the COAG Energy Council Hydrogen Working Group to inform the development of Australia’s National Hydrogen Strategy.
The Working Group, established by the COAG Energy Council, seeks to support the development of a clean, innovative and competitive hydrogen industry that benefits all Australians and is a major global player by 2030. Chaired by Dr Alan Finkel, Australia’s Chief Scientist, the Working Group will develop the National Strategy and coordinate the approach to projects that support hydrogen industry development.
The Working Group will have six work streams: hydrogen exports; hydrogen for transport; hydrogen in the gas network; hydrogen for industrial users; hydrogen to support electricity systems; and cross-cutting issues.
The strategy will be considered by COAG in December 2019.
