The European Commission puts forward major recovery plan

The European Commission has put forward its proposal for a major recovery plan, "Next Generation EU". Among other instruments supporting the plan, the InvestEU investment program is to be upgraded, and a new Strategic Investment Facility built into it.
The InvestEU Fund shall operate through five policy windows, one of which includes carbon capture and storage and clean hydrogen under "key enabling, transformative, green and digital technologies and gamechanging innovations where the investment is strategically important for the Union’s industrial future".
