Institute updates

The Institute’s Dr Victor Der, Chief Representative – North America, was awarded the Senator Jennings Randolph Lifetime Achievement Award at a gala hosted by the Washington Coal Club on 28 November 2012. The award honours Vic’s distinguished work at the US Department of Energy and the Institute. 

Panel members provided an update of CCS projects globally, focusing on the propensity and sufficiency of the UNFCCC’s current and future arrangements to support clean energy options.

The Global CCS Institute has welcomed a new report by the ENGO Network, an international group of leading environmental organisations, which urges governments, in particular, and industry to back carbon capture and storage (CCS) as a vital technology for dramatically reducing carbon emissions.
