Institute updates

Twenty-one senior executives from coal and oil companies, carbon capture and storage (CCS) project developers, and the US and Canadian governments met in Queenstown, Maryland on 9–11 July for the first Institute-sponsored Wye Thought Leadership Forum. The Forum was facilitated by Victor Der, Global CCS Institute General Manager for The Americas .

On 20 June 2013, the Institute hosted its second Japan Regional Members’ Meeting in Tokyo, giving Members the opportunity to hear from several experts on the latest developments in carbon capture and storage (CCS), especially in the Asia Pacific region.

On 2 July 2013, the Global CCS Institute’s annual China carbon capture utilisation and storage (CCUS) workshop was held in Yan’An, Shaanxi province. The day-long workshop was hosted by Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum Group and jointly organised by the Institute and China’s Department of Climate Change, National Development and Reform Commission (DCC-NDRC).
