Institute updates

The Global CCS Institute is well advanced with its plans announced earlier in the year to move to a new regionally focused structure.

Over recent months, key appointments have been confirmed and new offices have been opened in Brussels, Beijing and Melbourne as part of our transition to a more regionally focused organisation.

From September 2013, the Institute will establish a Junior Professional CCS Network directed toward junior professionals, recent graduates and students from all areas across the CCS chain. Linking through an online network, focus areas of the Network will be to provide learning and relationship opportunities for members.

The Global CCS Institute celebrated the handover of a course of educational materials to Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) in Malaysia, at a ceremony held at the Malaysian Petroleum Club, PETRONAS Twin Towers, on 20 August 2013. The course materials cover carbon capture, transport, storage, economics, CO2utilisation, public engagement, and legal and regulatory issues. This work is part of the Institute’s capacity development program with Malaysia.
