On 15 November 2016, the Global CCS Institute’s Americas office held the Clean Energy Solutions Symposium: What is the Future of Carbon Capture? at the National Press Club, Washington, DC.

COP 22 in Marrakech convened on 7 November; with a two week window in which to commence the implementation of the Paris Agreement (adopted at COP 21 in Paris) and to resume the discussion on issues that were essentially suspended while the Paris climate conference dedicated most of its political capital on stewarding in the new climate treaty.

On 15 November, during the 22nd UN Conference of the Parties (COP22) in Marrakech, Morocco and one week after the US elections, the Global CCS Institute will hold the Clean Energy Solutions Symposium: What is the Future of Carbon Capture?

COP 22 is scheduled from 7 to 18 of November 2016 in Marrakech, Morocco, and will mark the Institute’s seventh year of engagement in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

The Global CCS Institute is gearing up for an action-packed month ahead, as we advocate for the importance of carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology in tackling climate change.

Tokyo hosted two significant carbon capture and storage (CCS) events in October – a meeting of the Carbon Sequestration Leadership Forum (CSLF) Technical and Policy Working Groups and the associated Technical Workshop on CCS, and the Innovation for Cool Earth Forum (ICEF).

The 20th annual Met Coke Global Summit took place from 18 to 20 October, and for the first time, carbon capture was on the agenda.  The Summit, which bills itself as “Where the [Metallurgical Coke] Industry Comes Together To Do Business,” convened in the historic heart of US coal count

The new national carbon pricing policy announced on 3 October by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau dominated discussion at the third annual Canadian Climate Forum, which convened 20-21 October.
