Institute updates

The CCS industry has identified public engagement as an important element in the planning and development of CCS projects. As part of the Global CCS Institute’s ongoing work to share knowledge and provide information to help develop capability and best practice, it is releasing multiple public engagement reports and tools to assist project proponents:

1. A Public Engagement Self Assessment Tool for CCS Projects

The Global CCS Institute is pleased to announce the appointment of Brad Page as Chief Executive Officer. He will take up the position during August 2011.

“The appointment of Brad Page as CEO marks the start of a new chapter of the Institute’s mission to accelerate the global deployment of CCS technologies,” said Russell Higgins AO, Chairman of the Institute.

The Institute has released two new reports by TNO on CO2 storage in support of the Rotterdam CCS Network Project.

The first report provides a description of the work undertaken, the methodology applied and a summary of the key results and findings.

The second report contains the steps to be taken in the development of a CO2 storage site, i.e. identification (screening), detailed study and estimation of the cost.
