Deep saline sequestration study

1st March 2011

Topic(s): Carbon capture use and storage (CCUS), CO2 storage

While the Trailblazer project located nearby the Permian Basin in West Texas intends to sell its CO2 for use in enhanced oil recovery (EOR), Tenaska believed it was prudent to understand the potential for geologically sequestering CO2 without concurrent EOR near the Project site as an alternative to the base case.  This desktop study was undertaken to examine the various subsurface options for the Project site.

This report describes how the Project gathered and analysed information on CO2 sequestration in deep saline formations near the Trailblazer site.
