The Global Status of CCS is the Global CCS Institute’s flagship annual report, providing a comprehensive snapshot of the state of carbon capture and storage (CCS) around the world and the developments shaping its continued deployment.

Against a backdrop of geopolitical uncertainty, growing energy demand, and an increasing focus on energy security, CCS continues to make progress globally. Projects are advancing across a growing range of industries and regions, supported by evolving policy frameworks, new approaches to financing, and the development of shared carbon transport and storage infrastructure.

As the sector enters its next phase of development, sustaining progress will require staying the course: maintaining policy support, strengthening investment frameworks, advancing infrastructure and continuing to move projects from concept to operation.
