On August 26, 2026 the Institute hosted a Member Webinar highlighting Stratum Reservoir's research that seemingly minor subsurface heterogeneities can have a significant impact on the accuracy of CCUS and CO₂-enhanced oil recovery (CO₂-EOR) reservoir models. Drawing on lessons from site characterization, the session will examine how conventional assumptions inherited from the oil and gas industry can underestimate uncertainty by one, or even two, orders of magnitude.
