Member Webinar | CO₂ Storage Kalundborg: Advancing Onshore CCS in Denmark
On 24 September 2026, the Institute hosted a Member Webinar featuring Equinor and Ørsted, who provided an overview of the CO₂ Storage Kalundborg project, developed in partnership with Equinor, Ørsted and Nordsøfonden.
The session explored progress on one of Denmark’s four awarded onshore CCS licences, including the completion of a 3D seismic programme and Denmark’s first onshore CCS exploration well. Speakers also discussed plans for associated transport and storage infrastructure, project milestones, and the pathway towards a final investment decision.
The webinar highlighted the role of geological appraisal and infrastructure development in advancing carbon storage and supporting Denmark’s decarbonisation ambitions.
