About
The Institute is delighted to invite you to join our Monthly Member Webinar series, where each month members and friends of the Institute gain insights from fellow members across a broad spectrum of topics in carbon capture and storage.
This month’s webinar features Stratum Reservoir, who will explore how seemingly minor subsurface heterogeneities can have a significant impact on the accuracy of CCUS and CO₂-enhanced oil recovery (CO₂-EOR) reservoir models. Drawing on lessons from site characterization, the session will examine how conventional assumptions inherited from the oil and gas industry can underestimate uncertainty by one, or even two, orders of magnitude.
Attendees will learn how modern automated mineralogy and digital analysis of cuttings and core samples can reveal critical variations in mineralogy, porosity, and permeability, improving our understanding of fluid-rock interactions and supporting more robust reservoir characterization for CO₂ storage and EOR applications.
