Technology Readiness and Costs of CCS

6th May 2021

22:00 AEST / 08:00 EDT / 13:00 BST / 14:00 CET

Overview:

Carbon capture and storage (CCS) are essential technologies to achieving global net zero ambitions, making the cost of deployment increasingly important as the scale and breadth of CCS deployment grows around the world.

Join us for a webinar on the 6th of May as Dr. David Kearns, Alex Zapantis and Dr. Julio Friedmann  present a report on Technology Readiness and the Costs of CCS as part of the Circular Carbon Economy: Keystone to Global Sustainability series with Columbia University's SIPA Center on Global Energy Policy. The report surveys the technological readiness of mature and emerging technologies in carbon capture, transport and storage and examines the key drivers of CCS cost.

Presentation of the report will be followed by discussion and an audience Q&A.

Speakers:

  • Dr David Kearns, Principal Consultant CCS Technology, Global CCS Institute
  • Alex Zapantis, General Manager - Commercial, Global CCS Institute
  • Dr Julio Friedmann, Senior Research Scholar, Center on Global Energy Policy at Columbia SIPA
