24th May 2023

On May 9, the Global CCS Institute held its 2023 D.C. Forum on Carbon Capture and Storage in Washington D.C. and online.

The D.C. Forum is an opportunity for policymakers, industry leaders, NGOs, journalists, and financial institutions, to gather and discuss the rise of CCS in the Americas, and its place on the path to net-zero emissions and reaching global climate goals. During the event, we explored with experts in the field various key topics related to CCS, including:

  • CCS policy, regulations, and developments, in Canada and the U.S. Exploring the diversity of approaches, yet sustained momentum, on CCS across the Americas;
  • Various business models and enabling conditions to accelerate the deployment for large-scale CCS projects;
  • The role of carbon capture and storage in the global energy transition;
  • How multiple government agencies and NGOs are working to ensure CCUS pipeline safety and integrity.
