Recap: Global CCS Institute Asia Pacific Members Forum 2023

28th February 2023

22 - 23 February 2023, Darwin, Australia

Over the week of the 21st of February, the Global CCS Institute hosted 160 members and delegates from across the Asia Pacific region at the Australia and Southeast Asia Global CCS Institute Members Forum.

The forum was opened by The Hon Madeleine King, Minister for Resources and Northern Australia (read Minister King's opening remarks here), who reinforced the essential role CCS will play in Australia's decarbonisation pathway.

The Hon Natasha Fyles, Chief Minister of the Northern Territory, also provided opening remarks, highlighting the Government's support for CCS network development in the Territory.

Over two days, the forum hosted speakers and CCS proponents from across the entire value chain and a diversity of sectors, including hard-to-abate industries, technology providers, oil and gas, direct air capture (DACCS), hydrogen, and pure storage plays. Several panels covering topics including finance, law and regulation, social license and communication, and CCS networks drove discussion and knowledge-sharing.
