大容量の沖合CO₂貯留オプションの独立評価

ISAのフェーズ3は、商業ベースのCCS大規模普及の後押しとなるべく、大容量沖合貯留の利用可能性に更なる確実性をもたらすとともに、潜在的なCCSプロジェクト開発者に、プロジェクトを遂行した場合の長期的実行可能性についてより大きな信頼感を提供することを目的としている。これらの目的は、オランダ政府による陸上CO₂貯留に遅延が生じているため、さらに重要性を増している。

ISAのフェーズ3の実施により、最上部に適切なシーリング層がある、高品質（すなわち、高浸透性）の貯留層すべてについて、地下断層、貯留層の拡張及び厚さ、孔隙マップなどの各データと、オランダ大陸棚（DCS: Dutch Continental Shelf）の地質に関する知識の組合せにより、潜在的な貯留区画を特定した。ISAのフェーズ3で使用したすべての情報源を含むデータベースは、サイト別に分類しており、今後の調査において使用可能である。
