CCS: A New Approach to ESG and Reporting

23rd June 2022

13:00 CEST (Brussels) | 12:00 BST (London) | 15:00 GST (Abu Dhabi) | 21:00 AEST (Melbourne)

Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) has gone from aspirational activity to an essential aspect of commercial behaviour in recent years. The ESG reporting landscape remains dynamic and there is an increasingly clear opportunity for both project proponents and investors to leverage ESG frameworks for the deployment of CCS in pursuit of decarbonisation. However, while there are few barriers to reporting CCS-specific activities within an organisation’s climate risk mitigation activities, questions remain about the quality and utility of this information. The Institute's proposed reporting methodology and Thought Leadership report, proposes a means of addressing this challenge and enable a wide range of stakeholders to understand the breadth of CCS-specific information that may be reported.

Join us for an interactive webinar on June 23rd hosted in conjunction with the Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM), and the King Abdullah Petroleum Research and Studies Center (KAPSARC). Ian Havercroft, Principal Consultant Policy, Legal and Regulatory, from the Global CCS Institute will present our recent ESG Thought Leadership report followed by a panel discussion on the future of ESG and its influence in supporting investment in carbon capture and storage projects.

Speakers:

  • Ian Havercroft - Principal Consultant Policy, Legal, and Regulatory, Global CCS Institute
  • Mark Sisouw de Zilwa - Managing Director - Energy and Head Technical Team Emea and Asia Pacific, ING
