The Institute is pleased to help launch a suite of groundbreaking reports for the CCS community. Together, the reports provide unique insights into CCS policy, legal, technological and project updates from leading authorities and often, direct from the projects themselves.

The openCCS project handbook is a freely available guide for practitioners to deliver CCS projects. It covers the full CCS project lifecycle: from project definition to closure across capture, transport and storage. The content covering the complete set of activities is linked in to hundreds of pulblications.

A suite of the latest reports on CCS will be available on the Global CCS Institute website at the end of May 2014. The reports provide unique insights into CCS policy, legal, technological and project updates from leading authorities and often, direct from the projects themselves.

The Global CCS Institute is pleased to announce the release of The Global Status of CCS: February 2014 report.

The report summarises the current status of large-scale integrated CCS projects worldwide and finds that the global uptake of CCS has seen significant progress in the US, Canada and China with 21 large-scale projects in operation or construction.

As Stage II of a planned program of CCS activities, China Resources Power is examining the possibility of adding large-scale carbon capture facilities to its Haifeng power plant development in Guangdong province. The proposed capture facilities would be designed to capture around 1 Mtpa of CO2 emissions.  Storage site options are under investigation. Planned operation would be in the 2020's.
